SPES UNICA, a gathering of students organized by the Fathers of Holy Cross, Meghalaya Region was held from 29th to 31st May 2019 at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Umkiang.  150 students and 10 animators from 5 schools run by the Fathers of Holy Cross in Meghalaya took part in this event.  The theme for this year’s Spes Unica was “Rooted in Love”.  Most Rev. Victor Lyngdoh, Bishop of Jowai Diocese celebrated the inaugural Eucharist and later presided over the inaugural function.  Fr. Simon Fernandes, CSC, Provincial, Fr. Roy Thalackan, CSC, Vice Provincial, Fr. Joe Paul, CSC, Secretary Holy Cross Educational Foundation, Holy cross Fathers from Meghalaya Region and many sisters were present during the event.  During the three days, inputs sessions were given to the students on various topics such as, Personality development, Christian Faith through Sacraments and family, Christian Leadership and Vocation.  Dance, group song, collage and quiz competitions were organized based on the theme during programme.  Jesus Youth team led the students in prayer, praise and worship during Spes Unica.  All the participants learned new things, made new friendship and enjoyed their experience of living together rooted in love.
