Annual Sports Meet of Good Shepherd Parish was held from 27th to 29th March 2019 at Jongksha.  Competitions for the first two days were organised for the students of Good Shepherd Hr. Sec. School.  Shri. Daniel Dann, the District Sports Officer inaugurated the sports meet and encouraged the students to involve themselves in different sports and games items along with their studies.  On 29th students from 21 LP schools, 6 UP schools and 1 High School run by the parish joined the students of Good Shepherd Jongksha in various competitions.  Shri. Banteidor Lyngdoh, honourable Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya was the chief guest of the day.  He received the salute from different marching contingents consisting of NCC, Guides, Band and different schools.  Fr. Roy Thalackan CSC, Vice Provincial of Holy Cross Fathers was the guest of honour.  Colour drill displays and dances added beauty to the function.  IGNITE, the annual school magazine was also released during the function.  The concluding programme was enriched by the presence of Shri. Martle Mukhim, MDC and Shri. Medistar Warbah, the ex-minister.  Medals and trophies were distributed to the individual members and schools.  All the dignitaries hoped that the students will make new friendship, celebrate victory and accept defeat.
